Katie, born and raised right here in Port Neches, has always had an affinity for wine. It all started when she was 6 and her grandmother used to pour Welch's Grape Juice into a wine glass at the family Christmas and other events so Katie wouldn't feel left out.


After high school, Katie went on to be a Cardiac Cath Lab technician for 6 years and traveled around the country for work for 4 of those years. Through her travels, she further developed a deep love for all things wine, including wine bars she would visit in Dallas with her friends and family. She knew she wanted to bring something special like this to our area.


To make that dream a reality, Katie came home to help with the family business and other friends and family members who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. She then decided to go back to school at Lamar University for business and graduated with a double bachelor in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship in 2020 and all of that has culminated in Meridian Wine Bar.

Her vision for Meridian is to have a place for friends and family people to gather and introduce this area to more wines and varietals. Katie hopes to do this through guest sommeliers, events and tastings as well as partnering with other local businesses and organizations to give back to the community. She believes in keeping business local and put money back into this city and Southeast Texas in general. She is currently developing a full menu comprised of flatbreads, bruschetta and other tapas/small plates to pair with seasonal wine offerings and charcuterie options that will be in rotation and offering wine club memberships.
